How to set up alerts
Alerts help you proactively manage your SIM usage. To set usage alerts go to the ‘All Subscribers’ tab under ‘Subscriptions’ and click on the bell icon*.
You can set up three alerts for each SIM card.
Alert Options
- MB used in the bundle: You will be notified when the data usage of a SIM reaches a specified amount (in MB). For example, if you set the notification limit to “8” for a SIM on a 10MB bundle, you will receive an alert when the SIM has used 8MB of data.
- MB in overuse: You will be notified when the data usage of a SIM exceeds its limit by a specified amount (in MB). For example, if you set the notification limit to “1” for a SIM on a 10MB bundle, you will receive an alert when the SIM has used a total of 11MB.
- Out-Bundle cost: This option is expressed in currency. For example, if you set the amount to “1” for a SIM on a $3 bundle, you will be notified when the SIM uses $4 of data.
- In-Bundle % data Usage: This option is expressed in percentage. For example, if you set the amount to “50” for a SIM on a 2MB bundle, you will receive a notification when the SIM uses 1MB.
- Out-Bundle % data Usage: This option is expressed in percentage. For example, if you set the amount to “50” for a SIM on a 2MB bundle, you will receive a notification when the SIM uses 3MB.
Notify Me
- Portal Notification: This alert will display as a new notification in your Notification Centre. You can check your notifications by clicking the bell icon in the top right corner of your screen.
- Send to default email address: Usage notifications will be sent to your default email indicated in your Account Settings. You can change your default email by clicking Settings > Account Details > Default Email > Apply Changes.
- Send to alternative email address: To send alerts to an email different from your default email, simply type the new email in the “Add an alternative email address” box.
Be sure to click the “Apply Changes” box to save your settings. You will receive alert notifications based on your network CDR intervals and upon session closing.
Remember, setting alerts does not stop your SIM usage, it notifies you. If you would like to automatically suspend your SIMs when they have reached a certain amount of data, you can also set Data Limits to ensure your SIMs stop consuming data at a certain amount.
