Wireless Networking Sales and Management Veteran Retained to Drive APAC Growth and Expand Into New Markets

Irvine, Calif. – Sept 5, 2012 – Lantronix, Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX), a leading global provider of smart M2M connectivity solutions, today announced the appointment of Lei Zhong to the role of Director, Asia-Pacific Sales for Lantronix. In this capacity, Zhong is tasked with driving near-term growth in the Asia-Pacific region (excluding Japan), as well as expanding the company’s distribution channels into new markets for long-term growth.

“Lei brings to Lantronix a wealth of industry knowledge, sales expertise and management experience,” said Rob Robinson, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Lantronix. “His extensive background in building and managing sales teams in the wireless sensor and M2M arena should prove invaluable to our aggressive sales and marketing initiatives in the APAC region. We are pleased to have someone with his pedigree join the team.”

Prior to joining Lantronix, Lei was most recently Director of International Business for Nasdaq-listed MEMSIC, a leader in the design and manufacture of networking solutions for consumer electronics, industrial, aerospace, defense, and IT industries. In this capacity, Zhong consistently exceeded sales quotas year over year, grew the APAC and EMEA distribution channels to more than 32 distributors, launched four new products into the sales channel, and forged strategic partnerships with Sony, China Digital, and Parrot. In addition to MEMSIC, he has held senior sales and business development roles with Crossbow Technology and TeK Antenna Systems. Zhong received a graduate certificate in engineering from the University of Ottawa, where he also received bachelor degrees in both electrical engineering and business administration. He is currently a member of the board of directors for CASPA (Chinese American Semiconductor Professional Association) and a member of the American Chamber of Commerce for China.
